For or against deep fat fryers? I have noticed how people are either loving deep fat fryers, or completly hate them. So who has one? and if you do does it take pride place in the kitchen? Is it used alot?
If you dont have one, do you hate them? would you ever consider buying one? or are you totally aniti- deep fat fryer? |
I threw away my deep fryer a long time ago. It's just not a healthy way to cook foods. That's not to say I never fry anything EVER, but if I'm frying something I'll use a pan with oil instead. I don't need to take up room in my kitchen with a big appliance I would not use very often.
Rather than fry, I'll usually cook the food I want to crisp and then brush a little olive oil on top and put it under the broiler for a couple minutes on each side. It works like a charm and uses very little oil. |
Rate deep fat fryers, are they any good, best brand, safest? We are thinking of buying a deep fat fryer. Good ol' Argos £19.99...we think NOT (but that's our opinion, and NO slur to Argos). Tenet: You pay for what you get.' And we've heard all the 'fat jokes!' |
| I feel that iff you must deep fry, you should go for a well known brand and get the best you can afford and follow the instructions |
Does any one know anything about falcon deep fat fryers, the chieftain model?i need a new one for my takeaway i need a new fryer for work and they are quite expensive. so i want to know if they are worth the asking price. |
| I USED to be a fat fryer, but now having lost a lot of weight i am now a slim fryer? |
Deep fat fryers. Electrical or the traditional ' over the hob' ? Which is more eco friendly? the deep fat fryer elecrical appliance that does not require a cooker? or the traditional deep fat fryer that is cooked upon a stove? |
| They both use the same amount of energy to cook the same amount of food. |
How do I clean the plastic on the Deep Fat fryer? I know there are lots of questions alread about deep fat fryers but I cannot get the grease to disappear of the plastic? | im not sure if it will defo work but you should try the sprays that have orange or lemon in them. i think mr muscle does them but i do know you can get store own brand ones that work just as well. i work in a store and this stuff cleans better than the sprays we are actually supplied with. |
Deep Fat Fryers!!! Does anyone know what I can use to clean my fryer? I've tried hot soap and water but no luck :(
I need to remove the fat and grime from glass and plastic - any clues / advice to make this job easier than I'm currently making it! |
| Washing up powder. Cuts through the grease really fast. |
Best way to clean a deep fat fryer? Hello,
Would anyone know an easy and quick way of removing stuck on fat from a deep fat fryer (it is on the outside and inside). I was given the fryer, to do occasional deep frying, and it has this yellow sticky fat stuff on it, which I can't seem to get off with hot water and suds. I have tried Cilit Bang (universal degreaser), and it didn't do anything.
It has a plastic case (I think it is Tefal).
Thank you! |
| Before cleaning the deep-fat fryer, you must turn off the heating element and allow the fat to cool to about 150°F. Drain the fat out of the fryer. Then remove the basket support screen, scrape off the oxidized fat from the sides of the kettle with a spatula or scraper, and flush down the sediment with a small amount of fat. If the kettle has become very dirty, fill it to the level with hot water containing dishwashing machine detergent. Turn on the heating element and allow the water to come to a boil. Boil the water for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Turn off the heating element, drain, rinse with warm vinegar water, then rinse thoroughly with clear water, and dry the fryer well. Clean the outside of the fry kettle with a grease solvent. Do not leave heating element turned on when the deep-fat fryer is empty. |
